School Based Health Services
School Services are directed at helping states and school districts develop programs for claiming federal funding available under the Medicaid program. Medicaid reimburses schools for part of the cost of both the direct health services schools provide to Medicaid enrolled students and the cost of administering activities they carry out that are determined to support the Medicaid program health care outreach and Medicaid enrollment assistance.
MEA provides a range of consulting services to support school Medicaid revenue programs. These include:
- Obtaining federal approval for program design and reimbursement rates;
- Implementing service reporting and documentation processes;
- Training school staff and service professionals;
- Designing and operating staff time studies;
- Provide billing and other operation resources that eliminate the need for schools to invest in billing systems.
Public Hospitals & Institutions:
Public Hospitals and various Institutions bill Medicaid and Medicare programs for service provided to patients. These facilities must provide the Medicare and Medicaid programs with complex cost reports in order to establish a reimbursement rate.
